Enjoy a peaceful, convenient family camp experience at Calhoun County Park! The Kittie Wilson campground at Calhoun County Park has many large shade trees that provide protection from sun and wind while creating a natural camping environment. Located in rural Calhoun County, our campground is within easy driving distance of many of West Virginia’s major metropolitan areas, yet is secluded enough to allow a true wilderness camping experience. Seven campsites are available with projects underway to add more in the future. Water and electrical hookups are available at each site and shower and restroom facilities are conveniently located In the Herb C. Smith Community Building for guest use. While in the park, enjoy the other park facilities including, playgrounds, walking trails, basketball court, ball diamond, playground equipment, picnic shelters, fishing in the ponds, and of course, the abundant natural wildlife. We hope you will enjoy your camping experience at The Kittie Wilson Campground at Calhoun County Park. · Camping permits are issued to persons aged 18 and older. An adult must accompany persons under age 18. · There is a limit of one RV or trailer unit and two tents per site, and a maximum of 8 campers. · Use only designated campsites. Camp on durable surfaces and place tents on a non-vegetated area. Do not dig trenches around tents. · Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am daily. Please be respectful of your fellow campers. · Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park common areas. Please remain inside your own campsite area with any alcoholic beverages. · No wildlife in the park shall be disturbed in any manner, nor any vegetation removed. · Pack out what you pack in. Carry a trash bag and pick up litter. · Park rules are strictly enforced and Management reserves the right to ask campers to vacate the park property if they are in violation of park rules, are belligerent or abusive. |

Fishing is permitted and you may keep what you catch. Please make sure you do not leave garbage in or around the pond areas.

· Observe all fire restrictions. If you must build a fire, use existing fire rings or self-contained grills. · Cutting and burning of standing park trees (dead or alive) is prohibited. For campfires, use only firewood purchased from the park, or fallen timber. Gather your firewood well away from your camp. · Let your fire burn down to a fine ash and ensure that your fire is completely extinguished before leaving your camp area. · Do not bring firewood in from more than 50 miles away. This is to avoid the spread of disease to forested lands. |

· Pets enjoy our county park just as much as their owners do! They are allowed within the park and should be kept within the owner’s command at all times. · Within the campground area itself, they should be on a leash so as not to disturb other campers. · Owners are responsible for removal of pet waste and disposing of it in a sanitary manner. · Do not leave your pets unattended. |

Our regular camping season begins Memorial Day Weekend and ends Labor Day. During that time, the front gate of Calhoun County Park will be open. We have extended season for special events, astronomers, hunters, or family reunions. Arrangements must be made well in advance for this type of reservation. All registrants must fill out a registration form and provide a photo ID. You may register and pay online, or you may fill our a form and fax it to 304-354-0148 (call first), then pay in cash, check, or money order when you arrive at the park. Please contact our overseer, Shirley Ball, at 304-354-0032 to make arrangements.
